The ‘LUXE’ Travel Edit
20 June 2013
LUXE are the go-to guides that have achieved near cult status and are renowned for a focus on contemporary concepts of luxury travel that are, according to Vanity Fair, 'so cutting edge you could be lacerated if you are not up to its cool pace'! Each guide comes in a condensed format and is packed with insights laid out in light-hearted irreverence.
"Phuket is rocketing up the Asian island stylometer, with lush new properties, restaurants, shopping and leisure pleasures popping up like polka dots on a teeny-weeny. There’s simply no point resisting.
Imagine galloping off into a ravishing Hollywood sunset, finding miles and miles of beautiful, deserted, powder beaches and limpid azure sea, or speeding off on a private Riviera motor yacht for a deserted cove BBQ. Relax. LUXE will show you how, as well as the island’s finest hotels and most exclusive private villas for rent. When lying by the pool loses its polish, we’ll take you straight to the chic stuff, including great leather goods, custom candles, furniture and stainless steel tableware and jewellery all handmade to order. With LUXE it’s easy to avoid the touristic venues and get straight to the island’s best food and chicest places to sip and chill. All that, in one handy little pocket rocket. C’mon baby, swim to daddy." LUXE Phuket. Make everyday a holiday.

There are many luxury resorts on Phuket but apparently, according to a close friend who stayed there recently, the new 2013 super-luxe COMO hotel and Shambhala spa is contemporary Thai luxury at its most spoiling. Set above the dramatic limestones of Phang Nga Bay, the iconic location where James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun was shot, and on the tip of Cape Yamu overlooking the Andaman Sea it is all about location, location, location!
